This page presents Rules and Guidelines for Original Content on the Moeverse Wiki, and also apply to Derivative Content.

Original Character Article Titles

Pages about Original Characters should be titled with how the character is normally identified in-universe in a neutral way (not a specific nickname by a close friend for example). If it exists in the story, the Surname must be included.

In case of a naming collision, the first entry may keep the title as is, unless there is a high or even certain possibility of collision with Informative Content, in which case the name will be reserved for a disambiguation page, and the following rule will also apply for the first entry. Subsequent entries must have the Universe Name in parentheses appended (this must otherwise not be done by default, unless the character is a clear derivative of an existing identically named one). If no Universe is associated to the Character, then the User Name can be used instead of the Universe's.

Subpages

The MediaWiki Subpages feature (not to be confused with Categories) should be used when making pages to organize or develop your Original Universe. For example, instead of having the following titles,

  • Introduction to My Awesome Universe
  • My Awesome Universe's Character List
  • My Awesome Universe's Lore

You would have:

  • My Awesome Universe/Introduction
  • My Awesome Universe/Character List
  • My Awesome Universe/Lore

This effectively makes three pages (Introduction, Character List, Lore), that are subpages of "My Awesome Universe" instead of belonging nowhere. In these subpages, there will be a link to the parent page at the top.

When linking to these pages, you can do something like 

* [[My Awesome Universe/Introduction|Introduction to My Awesome Universe]]
* [[My Awesome Universe/Character List|My Awesome Universe's Character List]]
* [[My Awesome Universe/Lore|My Awesome Universe's Lore]]

Subpages may be appropriate in other cases, like making galleries for each of your characters. Feel free to make use of the feature if it is appropriate, especially with the Tabs Template.

Where to not use Subpages

Pages that are about a specific thing like a character, place or event should not be subpages. In case of a naming collision, follow the rules for the character titles (add your User or Universe Name in parentheses).
