Mamori Hayasaka (Japanese: 早坂 まもり) is the mascot and personification of PC Matic in Japan, a security software developed by the American cybersecurity firm PC Pitstop and distributed in Japan by the Bluestar Corporation.
History
She debuted on the Kyoko Shimbun News fictional and satirical newspaper, appearing on the site's banner since April 2015 to promote PC Matic according to a fictional interview with her[1]. She was first known by the name of PC Machiko (PC まちこ), and the Kyoko Shimbun News conducted a survey to find a new name for her, citing in the interview the naming contest of a then unnamed Windows 10 moe mascot as inspiration.
Her name ended up being Mamori Hayasaka, reflecting the speed and strong defense of the software she represents[2].
She was likely designed by artist Akai (赤井), credited in an official artwork of Mamori[3] and as the illustrator of comics featuring her[4].
In a commercial[5], she was voiced by Kazuki Honda (本田和希).
