''Binchō-tan'' manga was created by Takahito Ekusa, featuring the titular main character and her companions, who are moe personifications of charcoal types. The manga ran from November 2003 until November 2008.
An anime adaptation of ''Binchō-tan'' produced by Studio Deen began airing in February 2 until March 30, 2006. == Character ==
Binchō-tan is a young girl who lives by herself in an old house in the mountains, and is good at cooking rice.<ref name="BinchoCast"/> She is a hardworking child but willing to do all kinds of jobs given to her, for instance like deodorizing shoes. She is able to change her size, and may have other, unspecified abilities. Her birthday is May 7.
