Windows 8 Pro Spring Special Campaign

Windows Navi+ ran the Windows 8 Pro Spring Special Campaign (Japanese: Windows 8 Pro 春トクキャンペーン) promoting Windows 8 Pro DSP and featuring Yū and Ai Madobe from March 22 to May 12, 2013[1][2].

The campaign featured two lotteries,

  • Course A: 150 winners could attend a secret concert in on June 15 at TwinBox Akihabara, where Asuka Nishi an Nao Tamura would perform for Yū and Ai respectively. Lyrics were sought during the campaign and eventually ended up to be the Mir8cle Days and Whatever the Future Holds songs.
  • Course B: participants could win various computer parts and digital appliances.

On April 27, a limited Windows 8 Pro DSP Pack was released, officially referred to as the Original Charm and Mouse Windows 8 Pro DSP 64-bit Pack (オリジナルチャーム＆マウス付 DSP 版 Windows 8 Pro 64bit パック)[3][4]. There were one kind for each twin, and 1500 Packs were available in total, presumably 750 per girl.

Some shops also featured a separate disc containing two new wallpapers and copies of the content of the regular Windows 8 Pro DSP Release Commemorative Pack, and a large seal featuring the twins. It is unknown how many of these were made.

Pack Content

As the name suggests they contain a charm based on their hair ornament and a modified pink or blue Microsoft Wireless Mobile Mouse 3500 with a print of Yū or Ai respectively. Additionally, there was an invitation giving another way to attend the secret event if the person is among the 150 first ones applying, and a letter from Yū and Ai explaining the backstory of the items.

Charm and Mouse

A Duracell battery (dated from around 2012-08 and expiring around 2019-03) is included and inserted in the mouse, though if still present, it is certainly dead and probably even leaked; it is advised to remove it if still present even at the cost of unsealing the packaging.

Letter

Yū thanks the owner for the purchase of the Pack and explains that the Charm is based on their hair ornament, It was made so that it can be attached to various places such as a cell phone or zippers. Ai then explains that the Mouse is a souvenir that Nanami gave when they made their debut as the Windows 8 Mascots, and encourages to use it with Windows 8. Pink and Blue are their lucky colors.

The wallpapers were originally in the 1920 × 1080 resolution, and later included in the Windows 8.1 Pro DSP Release Commemorative Packs in higher resolution or as the original .psd file. They were also included in the Windows 8.1 Pro DSP 2013 Winter Campaign media.
