Windows 8.1 Launch Campaign

Windows Navi+ launched a preorder campaign on October 4, 2013 promoting the release of Windows 8.1[1][2][3]. It featured Ai, Yū, Nanami and Claudia Madobe

The campaign proposed several limited edition Windows 8.1 Pro DSP bundles, the Windows 8.1 Pro DSP Release Commemorative Packs (Japanese: DSP版 Windows 8.1 Pro 発売記念パック), that could be preordered before the Windows 8.1 official launch on October 18. Three kinds of packs were available:

  • The regular pack, limited to 6191 units. The bonuses are contained in a white box depicting the four Madobe Characters with the commemoration wallpaper.
  • The Madobe Family Version pack, limited to 1000 units. It uses the same box as the regular version, but has a "Madobe Family Version 窓辺ファミリーバージョン" seal.
  • The version with mouse, limited to 810 units. The box is orange, larger, and depicts the girls with the Halloween themed wallpaper.

In total, there were 8001 packs. Unlike the Windows 8 launch packs, there were no specific Ai/Yū versions.

All packs come with a physical copy of Windows 8.1 Pro DSP to which a key for the Data Migration 9+ (データ引越し9＋) software is also attached, and a coupon with a Skype key enabling unlimited landline phone calls within Japan for 3 months. The main bonus is a DVD, which contains a lot of media about the Madobe Family.

The Madobe Family Version bundle additionally includes four stickers depicting the Windows XP, Vista, 7 and 8 logos, while the mouse version includes a Microsoft Sculpt Mobile Mouse with a picture of Nanami.

Discs

Two variants exist, the regular one (included in the regular and mouse packs) and the Madobe Family Version included in the titular pack. They all bring three new wallpapers (commemorating the Windows 8.1 Launch, the Madobe Twins' Birthday, and Halloween), and also contain material from previous campaigns involving Nanami, Claudia, Ai, Yū Madobe and Ruri Azumi. The Madobe Family Version adds new sound effects of the Madobe girls and a Theme Pack file with the new sounds and wallpapers. Its label has the additional "窓辺ファミリーバージョン" mention.
