OS Idol Win-chan (Japanese: OSアイドルWinちゃん) is a mascot character designed by Mine Yoshizaki. She is described as an "unofficial Microsoft idol."
History
Win-chan was created for TECH Win, a PC magazine published by Enterbrain. Win-chan's earliest appearance in media might be from a promotional CD, which dated back as early as October 1998.[1]
However, the editor-in-chief has suspended the serialization for Win-chan. Since then, multiple derivative works of Win-chan had been released, including fanbooks and figures.
Due to her name and character design, it was commonly assumed that she was a catchall representation of all Microsoft Windows operating systems.[Challenged]ⓘ

- She is voiced by Yui Horie.
- Win-chan has a theme song titled "Win Was Forever" with lyrics written by Mine Yoshizaki, music by Takahiro Iwai and sung by her voice actress Yui Horie, released in TECH Win's October 2000 issue.[2]
