History
Ryfa and Zenka originate from Singapore and first appeared in the Asian AMD Ryzen Mascot Hunt campaign from August 1 to September 30, 2017, during which residents of Thailand, Malaysia and Singapore could get a discount for some motherboards supporting Ryzen processors, via a mobile application that also featured Amada Kokoro.
Merchandise such as mousepads or clear files featuring the girls were distributed in campaigns in order to promote Ryzen products at least until late 2018[2], and the girls were still used in 2020 to illustrate some PC building guides[3].
The characters were relatively popular in Japan, Zenka reaching the Top 10 five times in the Akihabara Moe Characters Contests (8th in 2017, 6th in 2018, 7th in 2019, 10th in 2020 and 2021), and Ryfa doing so twice, being 7th in 2018 and 8th in 2019.
