OS-tan/Other Characters
This is mostly content that has been migrated from the former OS-tans.moe Project, and it was often based on unreliable user generated sources (though this does not mean that the challenged information is incorrect). Your help is welcomed to verify or infirm the statements and clear the challenges; do not use references such as the Nijiura @Wiki or Pixiv Encyclopedia, try to find and document appearances in printed Dōjinshis, or find references directly related to Futaba Channel or the original OS-tan community - see other OS-tan Character pages for examples of good references. This page describes minor or obscure OS-tan characters.

She appeared in the Spring is Here! OS Festival (春だ一番!OS祭り) adult only dōjinshi, which could be bought during the 10th Futaba School Festival held on May 3, 2015[2].
Ōjiji (3.x)
Ōjiji (大爺様, Ōjiji-sama) is a representation of Windows 3.1.
Ōjiji is a man who dresses in green Meiji-era military attire with a "3.1" medal on the right side. He is depicted as the younger brother of Oichi and Ōbaba, the older brother of NT-Mama, and the uncle of 95-tan. He speaks in the tone of an old man. Unlike Ōbaba who has DOS Kitty, Ōjiji has a DOS cat girl[Challenged]ⓘ.
After the OS Wars, he retired with Kapone. Occasionally, he would test his skills with 2K-niisan and Musupi, but he rarely appears[Challenged]ⓘ.
95-nīsan
95-nīsan (95兄さん) is a representation of Windows 95 as the male counterpart of 95-tan.
95-nīsan and 95-tan are often mistaken for being a married couple despite them being siblings. His personality is reminiscent of Cloud from the manga Haguregumo (浮浪雲), who is an aloof master swordsman, and often found drinking, but 95-nīsan is also a dependable and rather caring elder brother[Challenged]ⓘ.
He is also the de facto head of the Windows family because Ōjiji rarely appears. He became a master of swordsmanship and often drinks during the day, causing him to be admonished often by 95-tan[Challenged]ⓘ.
He became a master swordsman after being trained by Itai-san, another characters from Futaba Channel. He is also a drinking buddy to Akachochin, another Futaba character[Challenged]ⓘ.
Like 95-tan, his attire references Windows 95's Hanami wallpaper.
Hassan (98)
Hassan (はっさん) is a representation of Windows 98 as the male counterpart of 98-tan.
He is the younger brother of 95-tan and 95-nīsan, and the elder brother of 98-tan, 98SE-tan, Me-tan, and Me-bō. The Windows NT lineage, such as 2K-tan and others, are his half-siblings[Challenged]ⓘ.
Like his sister 98-tan, Hassan also references Vulcan from Zatch Bell!. He can transform into his alter-ego Masked Vulcan. Back in the OS Wars, he fought actively as Masked Vulcan, but after the war ended, he was often in the front seats of action shows, and worked as a pro wrestler[Challenged]ⓘ.
Nowadays, Hassan is unemployed and has not much to do, aside from going to the arcade and pachislots, and lives with the allowance from his grandmother. This caused 98-tan to no longer call him anything but "unemployed", though she still hopes they can be close siblings again[Challenged]ⓘ.
Sessan (98)
Sessan (せっさん) is a representation of Windows 98 SE as the male counterpart of 98SE-tan.
98SE-kun is the younger brother of 95-tan, 95-nīsan, 98-tan, and Hassan, and the elder brother of 98SE-tan, Me-tan and Me-bō[Challenged]ⓘ.
He is able to transform into his alter-ego Masked Vulcan SE in a similar fashion like Hassan. During the last days of the OS Wars, Sessan used to actively participate as a combat OS with his Masked Vulcan SE attire, but was thought to be dead when he was missing in action[Challenged]ⓘ.
However, after the wars ended, it was discovered that he was still alive, working as an owner of a coffee shop near the Windows family home[Challenged]ⓘ.
Taeko Uijima
Taeko Uijima (初島妙子), also known as We-tan (Weたん), is a character that appears in early OS-tan works, notably the Trouble Windows OS-tan Fan Book. She is basically a inverted recolor of Me-tan, and has a question mark symbol on her ribbon badge.
We-tan followed in the footsteps of her father who wanted to become a DOS, so she moved to Tokyo with the goal of becoming an OS-tan but was unable to do so, settling for being an anthropomorphic character for the Nintendo Wii (but that setting was rarely used)[Challenged]ⓘ.
She works at Teikoku Shoji, where she is in charge of the management and operation of the company's internal network, and is also involved in the planning and development of various applications[Challenged]ⓘ.
We-tan is Me-bō's girlfriend, however she is fed up with his cheating habits[Challenged]ⓘ.
She has a husky voice based off of the character Geronimo from Kinnikuman[Challenged]ⓘ.
Me-bō
Me-bō (Me坊) is a representation of Windows Me as the male counterpart of Me-tan.
Me-bō shares a similar appearance and screwed-up side with his sister Me-tan, but unlike her, he is smarter and more helpful, sometimes found reading Windows Help files to others[Challenged]ⓘ.
He is frequently portrayed as a student. It is suggested that he goes to a local or private college. A less common interpretation portrays Mebou as a boy detective[Challenged]ⓘ.
Me-bō is very protective of his sister, sometimes going so far as to interfere with her relationship with Kurō , or trying to save her from the troubles she caused. Other than that, he is often seen getting along with 2K-niisan, Musupi, and Homeo, the former acting as a guardian figure to Me-bō[Challenged]ⓘ.
Me-bō is the boyfriend of We-tan[Challenged]ⓘ.
2K-nīsan
2K-nīsan (2k兄さん) is a representation of Windows 2000 as the male counterpart of 2K-tan.

2K-nīsan is one of NT-Mama's children. He is the younger brother of Inu-T, and the elder brother of 2K-tan, XP-tan, Musupi, Homeko, and Homeo. He is also a friend of Me-bō[Challenged]ⓘ.
He has a calm, rational and professional demeanor, and is highly skilled in both combat and office work. He tends to look after after his brothers and sisters with a sort of fatherly nature about him. However, alternative interpretations portrayed him as socially awkward or airheaded, and often struggling to read the room. Like 95-nīsan, 2K-nīsan also enjoys drinking and hanging out with other Futaba Channel characters[Challenged]ⓘ.
2K-nīsan enjoys spending time with his family, despite his busy schedule at the office. He is often seen in the company of Me-bō and Musupi, acting as the guardian to the former and a mentor figure to the latter. He sometimes gives advices to Homeo, which tend to be cryptic[Challenged]ⓘ.
2K-nīsan met Sonata 13 years ago, and gave her a ring as a symbol of their friendship. Sonata mistook it for an engagement ring, and that caused an uproar in both the Windows Family and the Mac household[Challenged]ⓘ.
He has a trick he only performs in banquets and parties, which is cutting a beer bottle with his hand from 10-15 meters away[Challenged]ⓘ.
Musupi (XP Home)
Musupi (むすぴ) is a representation of Windows XP Professional Edition as the male counterpart of 2000-tan. He is the younger brother of XP-tan and Homeko[Challenged]ⓘ.
He is portrayed as a muscular man in his late teens or early 20's, sometimes in an exaggerated fashion. He has similarly long black hair and blue or dark grey eyes like XP-tan, however his hair is tied in a low ponytail, often braided, with a red bow. A noticeable "XP" shaped scars can be seen on his chest.
He wears a blue and white outfit, though most artworks tend to depict him as shirtless, only sporting a collar, cuffs, and a long loincloth.
Musupi is portrayed is brash but gentle, usually a nice, easy-going guy who just doesn't always think things through. He is often assumed to be a "dumb muscle" character stereotype due to his strength and cheerful personality, but he is kind to animals and children, and seems to respect people for who they are[Challenged]ⓘ.
He is most often seen with 2K-nīsan and Me-bō. 2K-nīsan often watches over Musupi and Me-bō's training, and sometimes hangs out with them in his downtime. Musupi also kindly looks out for and takes care of his little brother Homeo, the two sharing mutual understanding about dealing with their sisters[Challenged]ⓘ.
Musupi came from a pun of Musuko XP (息子XP), which was shortened to Musu-P (息P) and eventually Musupi. Musuko means "son" in Japanese.
He is shown to be the love interest of Pizza, another character from Futaba Channel[Challenged]ⓘ.
Homeo
Homeo (ほめ男) is a representation of Windows XP Home Edition as the male counterpart and younger brother of Homeko.
Homeo is the youngest of the XP siblings. A timid, hesitant boy, he's continuously disturbed by his weird sister.[Challenged]ⓘ
He is portrayed as a himedanshi (姫男子), a term for male fans of yuri/GL media, which mirrors Homeko, who is a fujoshi (yaoi/BL fan). Homeo is often teased into being a model for Homeko's yaoi doujins, often forced to work as an assistant on manuscripts and dressing up in female clothes.[Challenged]ⓘ
Despite being older than Viskei and Shinzō, he isn't a very dependable elder brother figure. He gets along with 98-tan, though he is often afraid of her.[Challenged]ⓘ
Homeo was known to attend Me-gaku (maid academy) dressed as a woman, and befriended some of the Nijiura Maids such as Itai-san, Kasumi-san, and Yukiko. He has a crush on Yukiko, but he was afraid his true identity would be revealed.[Challenged]ⓘ
Visbō
Visbō (Japanese: びす坊) is an OS-tan representing Windows Vista. Because of how Visbō is designed, she tends to look like a male character.
She is the youngest of the Vista siblings. She is naive and innocent for her age and doesn't show a negative side like her older sister, Vistake. She was given a ninja-like design because "one of the Vista logos looked like a shuriken." Because of her innocence, she is able to accept requests from Toshiaki in secret. (e.g., "Get me 95's underwear...")[Challenged]ⓘ.
Similar to how Vistake's characterization was a topic of controversy, Visbō is often disliked as an OS-tan who does not capture the characteristics of the OS[Challenged]ⓘ.
During her days of training as a ninja apprentice, she would speak with "~gozaru" at the end of her sentences. She is also the childhood friend of Reobō, who is one of the Mac OSX-kuns[Challenged]ⓘ.
Shinzō
Shinzō (新造), is a representation of Windows Vista.
Shinzō is a man who dresses in a black and red suit. He is the second of the Vista siblings, being the younger brother of Viskei, and the elder brother of Vistake and Visbō. A former host and a god painter (unlike Vistake), he loves his sister and will not tolerate anyone who makes Vistake cry.[Challenged]ⓘ.
He lives far away from the Windows Family and doesn't come back often. Sometimes he comes home to see Vistake's sketchbook or go to karaoke with Viskei and other celebrities, but he does not appear very often][Challenged]ⓘ.
At times he is depicted with a cigarette or a baseball bat.
Viskei
Viskei (びす兄) is a representation of Windows Vista.
Viskei is the eldest of the Vista siblings and the older brother of Shinzō, Vistake, and Visbō. He shows no mercy to those who make Vistake cry[Challenged]ⓘ.
He is a ninja who sleeps and wakes up on the ceiling of the OS house for training[Challenged]ⓘ.
Perhaps because he usually hides, his shadow is faint, and even in group paintings, he is drawn so that you can't tell where he is unless you look for him[Challenged]ⓘ.
Seven-chan Angel
- Not to be confused with Shimuro's Seven-chan.
Seven-chan is an OS-tan that appeared in 2009.

She is depicted as a small, palm sized fairy with transparent wings. She has orange hair styled into twintails with red bows. She sometimes wears a frilly headband. She wears a pink nurse uniform, and usually also wears a pair of black leggings and boots. CE-tan often carries a USB plug shaped staff with a red ribbon, which acts like a wand.
CE-tan is sometimes called an Pest or an Dung Beetle. little is known about her personality, but she is also very joyful and can fly, and due to the Sega Dreamcast using a modified version of Windows CE, she can be sometimes seen standing on or inside a Dreamcast[Challenged]ⓘ.
Kapone
Kapone (カポネ) is an OS-tan that represents Mac OS 7 or KanjiTalk 7.5. She is often referred as Kapo-nee (カポ姐) and is the eldest Mac-tan, and all the other Macs regard her as a big sister[Challenged]ⓘ.
Kapone was once a young woman who actively participated in the OS Wars a long time ago. She used firearms such as her Thompson submachine gun during battles with Ōbaba and 95-tan. As a result of her fight with 95-tan, she has a scar on her face that faintly emerges when she's agitated. Now retired, Kapone is also known as a smoker who enjoys lying down on tatami mats instead of properly sitting on her knees. She can be trigger-happy when dealing with bugs[Challenged]ⓘ.
Kapone was able to educate her daughter, Sonata, to be a proper lady like herself in the old days. However, she is still serious about combat and clueless when it comes to raising men. While she raised the OSX-kuns, her attitude toward them was summed up by her words: "If you train them, they won't die."[Challenged]ⓘ
Ōbaba is oblivious to Kapone’s disgruntled personality and even calls her Al-chan. However where Al-chan came from is up to debate, whenever it being based on Al Capone which is where the Capone codename comes from.[Challenged]ⓘ
Kurō
Kurō (9朗君, Kurō-kun) is a representation of Mac OS 9. He is Sonata’s younger brother.
Kurō was designed as a silver-haired boy wearing a bodysuit, with sleeves reminiscent of Sonata's design.
He is said to have feelings towards Me-tan. He is mostly depicted as a bystander in situations, often working behind-the-scene. However in works depicting his interactions with Me-tan, he is often the main character. Kurō can draw like Sonata, but not very well[Challenged]ⓘ.
His name Kurō (9朗), is an play of the name Kurō (九郎), meaning "ninth son" as the personification of Mac OS 9. However it's also a homophone to the Japanese word for "hardships" or "troubles" (苦労), also read as kurō.[Challenged]ⓘ.
Tora Brothers
The Tora Brothers (虎兄弟) are representations of Mac OS X and Sonata and Kurō's younger brothers. This group includes characters ranging from Cheetah to Tiger, often excluding Reobō[Challenged]ⓘ.
From left to right, the Tora Brothers are represented by a cheetah, puma, jaguar, panther, tiger, and leopard.
The Tora Brothers hold Sonata in high regard, considering her as their sister and willingly take care of all the housework on her behalf[Challenged]ⓘ.
They are a bunch of macho men who has been trained to death by Kapone. As a result of this unimaginably intense physical training, they have a genetic level of awe-inspiring fear imprinted on them by her[Challenged]ⓘ.
The Tora Brothers use specific honorifics. They refer to themselves using "washi" (わし), and end their sentences with "~ja" (~じゃ). Sonata is called "nee-san" (姐さん, older sister), and Kurō is referred to as "anija" (兄者, older brother) While the superior among the Tora brothers is also called "anija," they might add a modifier like "○○ anija" when addressing someone to avoid confusion[Challenged]ⓘ.
They call Windows Family "Madoshu" (窓衆, window people) and they particularly did not get along and has a sense of rivalry, despite their minimal interactions. They lack individual characterization and are not well-organized or intelligent, since all five of them always appear together, they can cause sweltering heat around them, thus making them not get along with others[Challenged]ⓘ.
The Tora Brothers often deliver their lines collectively, with each brother speaking one word at a time, and they conclude with a spirited shout of "Nee-san, MoeMoe ja!!" (姐さん、MoeMoeじゃー!!) to deliver the punchline. This pattern remained consistent even with the introduction of Yukihyō, which was expected to lead but did not[Challenged]ⓘ.
The Tora Brothers initially had a human-like appearance like Reobō. However, as they aged, they gradually transform their heads into beast-headed cats, though some accounts suggested that they are just wearing masks. It is rumored when Cheetah first completed his transformation into a beast, both Kapone and Sonata fainted in astonishment[Challenged]ⓘ.
Reobō
Reobō (れお坊), also known by his real name Leopard, is the OS-kun personifying Mac OS X Leopard, the sixth major release of Mac OS X series.
Reobō is the younger brother of Sonata, Kurō, and the Tora Brothers. He is a mischievous boy who is adored by everyone in the Mac OS family. He uses the personal pronoun "sessha" 「拙者」, and ends his sentences with "~de gozaru" 「~でござる」. He refers to his elder brothers with "anija" 「兄者」[Challenged]ⓘ.
He is a childhood friend of Visbō, and the two often pull pranks on the Windows Family. Despite their opposing genders, Visbō and Reobō get along well as playmates[Challenged]ⓘ.
After his younger sister Yukihyō was born, he began to take care of her in various ways, such as looking up to her when she is exhausted from the heat[Challenged]ⓘ.
Reobō's speech patterns seems to be influenced by Visbō, since she is a ninja[Challenged]ⓘ.
Yukihyō
