Nanami Madobe's Commercial

From Moeverse Wiki
"Nanami Madobe's Commercial!" Title
The Nanami Madobe's Commercial title as shown in the commercial itself.

Nanami Madobe's Commercial Supporting Self Built PCs with Windows 7!! (Japanese: 窓辺ななみのWindows7でPC自作応援コマーシャルっ!!) is a commercial featuring Nanami Madobe to promote Windows 7

The advertisement has a duration of 1:05.

Context

The commercial was screened at several shops on May 2010[1][2]. Four stores confirmed the screening, T-Zone PC DIY Shop, Sofmap, Faith and TwoTop. It is unknown whether more shops participated.

Optical discs containing the video were given away in limited quantities to people who bought a copy of Windows 7 DSP at the time, though it is unclear from the press articles whether only T-Zone or also other stores did that.

The screening has also been observed on August in some Sofmap, PC-Ones and Tsukumo stores and it has been reported that a disc distinct from the May one was distributed[3].

Summary

Nanami promotes the self building of Windows 7 PCs by first showing the various components inside a desktop computer, then a few features of Windows 7 like touch support or how easy it is to watch TV or move windows. The commercial ends with a scene in which a missing screw causes the front of her newly built computer to fall yet again, and Nanami concluding that one should try to build oneself a computer and have fun with Windows 7.

Nanami Madobe's Self-Made Support Animation DVD

The Nanami Madobe's Self-Made Support Animation (Japanese: 窓辺ななみ 自作応援アニメーション) was another DVD that could be obtained. The only known mention of it from its time is a Zigsow review[3] from August 2010, suggesting that it was distributed after the one above. The review indicates that it came from Tsukumo, though more shops may have distributed it too, or a different one.

It only contains the same WMV file as the other disc, while not including any of the other files that make it readable by DVD players. It was not distributed in a case and the number of discs distributed is not known.

Nanami Madobe's Commercial! TDK Disc

Another disc appears to have been distributed. There is however no known mention of it from its time, and thus no way to confirm its authenticity nor the time and modalities of its distribution. It may have been distributed by stores other than T-Zone in May or other than Tsukumo in August. It appeared at some point in 2025 in Surugaya's catalog as second hand item.

It was a blank TDK DVD-R that has been printed and burned with data similar as other discs playable by DVD players, though with different compression, causing different ISO size and hash.
