NT Maman (Japanese: NTママン) is an OS-tan that personifies Windows NT, presumably the versions before Windows 2000.

History

There were initially several representation for Windows NT, but none was much developed, possibly because there were only few Windows NT users among the Nijiura community[1].

The first design of her was made by Setsuaki (せつあき)[1] and published on September 28, 2003[2].

A derivative of the design later served as a base for Inu-T, and both characters were treated as a single NT-tan until the Inu-T's dog design appeared, and since then coexisted well[2].

Design

NT Maman is depicted as a woman with purple hair (ranging from lilac to very dark) tied in a ponytail by a blue or yellow ribbon. She has blue or purple eyes, and usually wears a simple pink dress, sometimes with a long-sleeved shirt under it, and an apron over it. She is also portrayed as a mother or an office worker.

Portrayals

NT Maman is often portrayed the mother of the OS-tans[3] and with a mature personality, described as the "ideal mother". [1]

In the Nijiura community, her presence is more obscure compared to 95-tan.

However, some derivative portrayals of NT Maman depicted her with a more aggressive side.
