Character

Mikko's imposing stature and stoic demeanor often made him aloof or unapproachable, preferring to spend most of his energy studying and practicing engineering and metalworking, or fishing in the lakes of Lumi, away from most Techne. Mikko only resorts to intimidation when necessary and found confrontation to be a waste of time.

While Mikko prefers solitude and tends to speak bluntly about most things, it is evident that he cares for others, even through his work. Many of the objects he builds prioritize ergonomics and are meant to last for a long time. He also has an interest in home hardware designs, his own designs more than often being minimalistic and natural.

Mikko is not a fan of being in the spotlight. Though ironically his laconic and straightforward personality only made him stand out more.

  • Mikko represents the Nokia MikroMikko, also known as Nokia PC, a line of personal computers made by Nokia in the 1980s, some of them are IBM PC compatible and run MS-DOS. [1]
    • His current appearance is largely based on the MikroMikko 3TT model, hence the sleeker look. He used to have a more clunky, less coordinated appearance, based on older models.
  • His first name is derived from MikroMikko itself.
    • His last name Rautiainen has the root word rautia, a variant of rautio, archaic Finnish word for "smith", alluding to his industrial background.[2]
