Me-tan Figure (Yūyu)

From Moeverse Wiki
"Me-tan Yūyu Figure
A Me-tan Yūyu Figure.

The Yūyu company produced a Me-tan Figure as one of their OS-tan merchandise [1]. The design was commissioned by the Futaba Channel community, referred to as Toshiaki (としあき) by Yūyu. Gen Ishizuka (石塚源) is the main sculptor and Shiro Fujisaki (藤崎士朗) is also credited for making the accessories.

Prototypes

According to a Mercari seller who sold them, two painted resin prototypes were made[2][3].

Me-tan had blue eyes in one of them, so Yūyu may initially have intended to portray Me-tan as such. It can be assumed to be the prototype that has been exhibited during the Wonfes. According to the Yūyu's product page, that prototype was also intentionally painted flat.

The other prototype features the usual and final green eyes, as well as some shading as in the final PVC figure to give a more three-dimensional feel, so it has likely been made later. Since a keyboard cable does not appear to have been made for it, this one might not have been exhibited and only served for internal purposes.

Garage Kit

The figure could be obtained as a garage kit during the Wonder Festival 2005 Winter that was held on February 20, 2005. It consists of 21 parts.

PVC Figure

On mid May 2005, Yūyu released the final prepainted PVC 1/8 scale figure at the price of 4500 yens (4286 without 5% tax)[1]. Quite many of these were presumably made since Yūyu stated its availability at shops nationwide, though it is uncommon nowadays and sought after.

The keyboard can be separated and serves as a stand, though it is not very effective and still difficult to maintain the figure stood up, so another stand or object should be used to prevent it from falling.

The figure has an height of 18 cm (excluding the cowlick, which adds about 1.5 cm). The Me-tan part weights about 195 g while the keyboard weights about 20 g. The box with figure weights about 390 g.
