Magical Toko-chan (Japanese: マジカルとこちゃん) is a magical girl character who personifies BSD (Berkeley Software Distribution).
History
She was designed by Gō Watanabe for the Magical Toko-chan Project, started by T.Shiozaki around 1999.
The initial goal for Magical Toko's creation was to be featured in “a certain FreeBSD news” or “AS*EC World's serialized (factually incorrect) wine pillows”.
Design
Her attire consist of a trident that has coloured circles, short lilac hair, a yellow headband with points like devil horns, a purple pointed tail, and a red outfit with a large yellow bow near the waist.
An alternative design has colours of her outfit switched around to be blue, orange, yellow and green.
Character
I'm Toko! I may look like a normal girl, but I'm actually a princess from BSD Land!
A 12-year-old girl full of energy. Her morning starts with a bowl of miso soup.[3] She looks like an ordinary girl, but she's actually a princess from BSD Land (Japanese: BSDの国).
She has an older sister named Solaris-chan.

- She has a little demon mascot (referred to as "navigator" in the site) named Demo-chan, which is likely based off of the BSD Daemon.[5] [6]
