Linspire-tan (Japanese: リンスパイアたん), formerly known as Lindows-tan, is an OS-tan associated with Linspire.

History

The first appearance of Linspire-tan might have been mentioned in the Trouble Windows OS-tan Fan Book, which noted the year 2004,[1] and she also had her own gallery in OS-tan Vault as early as April 2004, under the Lindows folder.[2]

Linspire-tan was formerly known as Lindows-tan and is still commonly refered to as such. Her name changed due to the Operating System changing its name after losing a lawsuit to Microsoft.[3]

Portrayals

Linspire-tan is represented as girl with blue and green hair wearing a white outfit, the original having her long hair down and wearing a large white shirt with the Linspire logo on it with matching white tights and blue shoes.

Another rendition has her hair in twin buns (decorated with the CNR icon on each bun) with hook-shaped pigtails coming out of them and wears a Chinese dress with gold trim and the Linspire logo on it. This pigtailed rendition is said to be her current self while the other was her past self back when Linspire was known as Lindows.
