Kiki is the mascot of Krita, a free and open source cross-platform application that offers an end-to-end solution for creating digital art files from scratch. Explicitly supported fields of painting are illustrations, concept art, matte painting, textures, comics and animations[1].
History
The Krita website indicates[2] that she debuted in 2013 on the cover of the Krita 2.6 tour booklet[3], which was available via their 2.6 release announcement[4] on February 5, 2013. Interestingly, her original artwork linked on their mascot page has the May 19, 2012 date in the file name[5]. Kiki was designed by Tyson Tan.
Starting from Krita 2.8, she was always featured in the splash screen, which features a different design of her. There is thus not strict official design of her, and artists are encouraged to make their own interpretations.
On November 20, 2017, she became a playable character in SuperTuxKart[6], a racing game featuring mascots of projects related to free software.

Profile[2]
Kiki is a budding artist robot made by the dragons of KDE Valley. She travels through time/space/universes to study the works of the masters, and to enrich her life experiences for her creative endeavor. She meets all sorts of person/characters in her journey, and even other incarnations of herself!
Trivia
- She was made as a squirrel because in Albanian, krita means squirrel.
