Justine Theodore-Tramell is a character in UNIVER.SYS. She is a TAN (Technological Anthropomorph) from Warefarer.

History

Justine is published to Moeverse on July 6, 2024, though previously she was published on OS-tans.moe a year ago. She had an early design in 2023, though her design may be renewed later in 2024.

Character

Justine is mild-mannered and kind, and is a decent singer and performer, however she has a low self-esteem due to being overshadowed by her more charismatic predecessors Vicky and Kairi. Warefarer fans tend to compare her with them, and she even became a victim of hate comments due to her "lack of stage presence", which led to Justine feeling that she could never catch up.

After her brief stint performing alongside her peers, Justine began to travel the world, which helped to open her up to knowledge and experiences beyond the entertainment industry. In fact, her travels actually paid off, and she has a quite dedicated overseas fanbase. She also currently runs Vicky's fashion line, as the latter is often busy with performing.

Technical

  • Justine is the personification of the Commodore 264 series, which included the Commodore 16, 116 and Plus/4. The Commodore 16, in particular, was intended to be the successor to the Commodore VIC-20.
    • Justine's name is derived from Jusztin, the name on June 16 in the Hungarian name day calendar (hence Commodore 16).[1].
  • Her middle name Theodore is from MOS Technology TED, [2] a chip for the Commodore 264 series.
    • Justine's vocal skills are actually quite good on her own, and she has a good eye in fashion, which references TED's sound capabilities, and a graphics palette of 121 colors.
  • Justine is actually better in management and computer programming than her predecessors, which references the office suite included for the Plus/4, and more advanced BASIC interpreter.[3]
  • Her hair color is based on the screen color of Commodore 264 series.[4]

Misc.

  • Justine's overseas career is inspired from the Commodore 264 series, particularly the Plus/4, which may have failed in its home market, but has success in countries such as Mexico and Hungary.
    • There is still an active emulator and community for the C16 and Plus/4 based in Hungary.[3]
  • Her favorite foods are crêpes and pancakes.
