Ikina (Japanese: いきな) is an unofficial mascot representing AMD, an American company that notably makes microprocessors and graphics processors.
History
Ikina seems to have debuted as early as in 2009, according to a Twitter account made for her during that time. [1]. An ASCII.jp article also mentioned Ikina during the same year [2], where customers who purchased AMD Phenom II X4 or Radeon HD 5000 series at T-ZONE.PC DIY SHOP will get free stickers of Ikina.
In the Akiba-PC article first mentioning Kokoro Amada in 2012[3], Ikina's activity as an AMD unofficial support character had decreased during Kokoro Amada's debut.
Profile
Not much is known about Ikina, though it was mentioned that she was born in July, and she has two sisters named Kiina and Kuruna. She seems to be excited about most things AMD-related.
Her favorite food is monaka, since she is said to be even more excited about monaka-related things.
Trivia
- There was an Android application featuring Ikina published in 2010 [4], though it is no longer available for download.
