Happy Windows 7 Campaign

Windows 7 Mania launched a campaign on March 12, 2010 promoting Windows 7 Ultimate DSP, featuring Nanami Madobe[1].

The campaign proposed the Happy Windows 7 Campaign Limited Premium Set (Japanese: Happy Windows 7キャンペーン限定プレミアムセット), which includes a CD-DA with the song Seven Color Generator sung by Nanami along 77,777 copies of Windows 7 Ultimate DSP.

According to Akiba PC Watch, some shops reported a 50% boost on their sales compared to usual.

During the campaign, Unitcom sold notebooks with prints of Nanami on the top panel via the PC Kōbō, TwoTop, and Faith subsidiary stores.

Three designs were initially released on March 12[2][3][4], all based on the Clevo W76CU (W760CUHM) and sold for ¥129,980:

  • Referred to as NANAMI-01/720QM322GwoU, NANAMI-02/720QM322GwoU or NANAMI-03/720QM322GwoU
  • 15.6" 1600 × 900 Glossy LCD Screen
  • Intel Core i7-720QM (Socket G1, theoretically upgradable to i7-940XM)
  • ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4570
  • 1 × 2 GiB DDR3 (2 slots, officially upgradable to 4 GiB, 8 GiB work fine)
  • 320 GB HDD
  • Windows 7 Ultimate 32 Bit DSP preinstalled with a Nanami Desktop Theme and seven Original Wallpapers (now presumed Lost Media)
  • Seven Color Generator Disc

A week later, lower tier counterparts with the same designs were released and sold for ¥77,777. They have a 1366 × 768 screen and a Celeron T3000 processor[5].

On May 6, two additional designs based on the first model were released[6], NANAMI-04/720QM322GwoU and NANAMI-05/720QM322GwoU.
