Goichi Madobe (Japanese: 窓辺吾一, Madobe Goichi) is a personification of Windows XP[2] and Nanami and Mutsumi's older brother.

History

The earliest mention of Goichi Madobe was from the Madobe Family Tree, though he didn't have a "public appearance" until April 1, 2013, where he was mentioned by Yū Madobe's Twitter account, seemingly Tweeting instead of Yū, and has since only characterized by his Tweets.

No official promotional artworks of Goichi was made, though a wallpaper by Yoshijima Ataru (atr4440 on Twitter/X)[3] and his profile picture, were the only existing illustrations portraying him. It was unknown if it was recognized or approved by Windows Navi+.

Profile

Goichi was born on November 20, 1982.[1] Even though he should be 30 in 2013, he somehow remained 27.[4]

He is the older brother of Mutsumi and Nanami Madobe, and described himself as the spirit of Windows XP,[5]often joking about Windows XP's imminent end of support. He was living his last days to the fullest.[6]

Goichi seems to be knowledgable about technology, and mentioned that Windows 8's UX wasn't good enough[7]. He also owns a Nintendo Famicom (NES) console.[8]

He's also an otaku and liked mecha anime[1], and was excited to attend 2013 Summer Comic Market.[9]
