DOS Prompt (Japanese: DOSプロンプト), or commonly referred to as DOS-tan, is an OS-tan that personifies MS-DOS. Possibly to distinguish her from DOS Kitty, she was given the official name DOS Prompt, as referred on the copyright page.

History

She probably debuted in 2003[1], presumably in a Futaba Channel post which image has been saved in the OS-tan Vault.

Character

DOS Prompt's main artwork portrays her as a shy character who tends to hide herself behind everything and carrying a keyboard.

  1. ↑ She appears in the earliest known archive (2004-02-09) of the OS-tan Vault's MS-DOS-tan page along with another DOS character, but the page is already linked in a 2003-10-04 archive of the home page, and since DOS Prompt is listed first and before the other character, it is likely that she was already there in 2003.
