Her earliest known appearance was as a silhouette on the Microsoft Japan's page featuring the Cloud Girl (クラウド ガール) Webcomic in which Claudia appears, on April or March 2012.

She then formally appeared in the sixth episode of the webcomic, which was released on July or August 2012.

Character

Ruri Azumi is a slightly ditzy girl with a Kyoto‑dialect whom is competent, proud, a bit smug at times, easily flustered, and deeply eager for Claudia’s approval and recognition. She is commonly blunt, as well as slightly teasing, though she panics easily under pressure, usually verbalizing such, but snaps back quickly into enthusiasm once things succeed.

Around Claudia, she shows visible admiration nearly immediately, and gets flustered if even close. She is immediately flustered when complimented by Claudia, and appears to want to show herself to her as reliable despite her lesser expertise, to the point of over-justifying her actions.

She is not afraid of showing her expertise, and is willing to assert it upon others, not hesitating to tease or challenge others when they fall short, occasionally leading to arguments.
