Moeverse Database Rules and Guidelines

In order to keep this place well organized, structured, and friendly, we established some Rules and Guidelines and expect every member from the community to do their best to follow them.

Getting Started

Moeverse is a Stelo.xyz Project subject to the Stelo.xyz Terms of Service, which are deemed accepted when using our Platforms or Services.

Accounts

A Stelo.xyz Account is required to actively participate and contribute to the Database, create one here if not already done. Currently, Write Permissions must be requested in the Database Home Page Chat.

As per the Terms of Service, except in exceptional circumstances, only one account per person is allowed, throwaway accounts are not allowed and may result in bans. Do not troll, vandalize pages, harass people, spam, etc. Failure to do so will result in measures being taken. There is little tolerance on misbehaving, so we will often directly close your account and maintain a permanent record of the events.

Database Guide

We have written our own Software to run the Database. Read the Guide to learn its principles.

The Database Interface provides additional Rules and Guidelines. Also check the Property Entries which may contain specific Rules.

Copyright

You accept that your contributions may generically be attributed to the Moeverse Community.

The Moeverse Servers are currently hosted in Canada and the content should therefore conform to Canada's Fair Dealing Rules.

Similarly, people can use the Main content of our Database as long as this is fair. Properly Credit our Community, do not steal whole paragraphs or even pages, scrap our Data or use our Site to train anything.

Original Works published on Moeverse are subject to the Author's Licensing, by default All Rights Reserved.

Allowed Content and Admissible Articles

All content on Stelo.xyz places must agree with the Terms of Service, in particular be suitable for a general public, and not be pornographic, violent, mature, questionable or bad taste. Use a language appropriate for everyone.

Links or references to sites or places dedicated to such content are also not allowed (Rule34 sites, NSFW accounts,...).

Characters with visible underwear or in swimsuit are criteria that will by themselves not automatically make the content questionable.

Since the definition of Moe is vague, we are fairly lenient on this. But generally, Characters not in an anime style or similar are more likely to not be considered as Moe and at risk of being rejected. Also, the Characters must be human or human-like (like elves or cat eared humans). Moe Mascots may also be some other species as long as they are built and behaving like humans. The Staff reserves the right to reject a Character who is not "Moe enough" according to their judgment and apply the ramifications of such decision.

The use of tools such as machine translators or summarizers is permitted, as long as you carefully check that what you write makes sense. Such services should not be credited or cited.

Given the Database Nature, there is no particular minimum content threshold. Feel free to just add an almost empty entry about an Admissible Character, and let others complete it. Of course if possible, try to make the effort to put together as much information as you can.

The Database is divided into Scopes which have different admissibility criteria, expanded below.

Scopes

The suitable Scope must be selected upon creation of a new Item.

Main Scope

The main purpose of the Moeverse Database consists of the documentation of some established Moe Works or media and merchandise featuring them. While Moeverse is a place for anything related to Moe, the whole concept would be too broad. There are countless animes, video games and other works featuring Moe Characters, and trying to document all of them would neither be reasonable nor interesting. We focus on established Works of Moe Characters who are primarily linked to the real world, and Informative Content about or directly related to the following is admissible for the Main Scope:

In contrast, content about Moe Characters not primarily linked to the real world such as those from most fictional settings are not admissible unless they are Pioneers, this includes:

Additionally, the following is not admissible either,

If you are an Author of, or affiliated to material from the Main Scope, you may not make contributions to it.

Admissible Items

An Item should directly be about at least one of the following:

If none of these criteria is satisfied, your Item will likely not fit the Database and may be deleted, though if you believe that such Item or similar would be a valuable addition to the Wiki, you may still open a discussion.

Extended Scope

The Extended allows Members to publish some material not admissible in the Main Scope. The condition is that a Character must first be introduced, and the person doing it must be extremely fond of this Character. Additionally, the Character's Universe/Franchise must not already be extremely popular, and exceptions for the Main Scope still apply, so Avatars generally cannot be added. Once such Character is introduced, related Items can be created as if that Character was admissible to the Main Scope.

The Extended Scope may also be used to include not established Characters such as interesting obscure one shot Artworks, that would otherwise satisfy the criteria.

Original Scopes

There is a generic "Original" Scope meant for contributions such as useful Guides about some Main Scope Content, Essays, or User Pages.

Active Contributors may request a Scope for their own Original Works. This is granted only if Moeverse is the main publication platform of the Work. Items made in these Scope then cannot generally be Edited by others.

By posting your Original Works on Moeverse, you agree that others from the Community may make derivative works subject to the Terms of Service and share them within Moeverse.

Machine (also commonly called AI) Generated Artworks are not formally prohibited, but it must be strictly provable that they were ethically produced: you should be able to provide the whole training dataset which must only consist of content acquired with proper permission, and the algorithm such that anyone else can regenerate that same artwork or equivalent.

References

When writing Informative Content, your additions should if possible be verifiable via reasonably reliable sources.

We do not have some Ref/Cite System like Wikipedia, for now put all References together into some section at the end of the Report. We are working on our own Tools to manage References.
